Vadnais Sports Complex is an impressive amateur athletics facility. The complex boast two NHL regulation hockey rinks, seating for over 1,300 fans, a 100,000 square foot dome with soccer fields, batting cages, volleyball courts, concessions, and more.
This Vadnais Sports Complex was a design-build project that allowed us to design everything from parking lot lighting, to interior (common area, rink, and dome) lighting and power systems, to an electrical distribution system capable of support massive HVAC loads, to a fiber-optic linear-heat detection system (the first of its kind in Minnesota), to an extensive Class A sound system, and everything in between.
In addition to the base building, there is also an existing sixteen-acre site that included a restaurant and three public utility buildings. While the utility buildings were simply demolished the restaurant became an integral, physically connect part of the Vadnais Sports Complex. This was a complicated endeavor, connecting the two buildings, which we accomplished without causing any operational interruptions.
